David Mooney is a writer and a freelance radio journalist based in Manchester. He is currently writing for ESPN FC, providing articles about his supported football club Manchester City. He has published books on that same topic – his most recent being Looks Like Scunny Next Season, which is all about the 1999 Division Two Play-Off Final team that came back from 2-0 down on 90 minutes to win promotion.

He’s written two other Manchester City books: Typical City – all about the club’s 2012 title win – and The Man Who Restored Pride – which covers the rise and fall of former manager Roberto Mancini.

David is a freelance radio reporter and has worked with Imagine FM and BBC Radio Five Live. He’s also a host and editor of the Blue Moon Podcast.
